CONTAINERS

It doesn't matter the size and whether divided or not -
I must have a container just right for each spot!

I want containers to stack and containers that hang,
I must have containers to store everythang!

Metal, or plastic, or wood will be fine
Re-purposed or new - just don't make me whine!

"A lack of containers!" I shout (and use as my excuse)
for the clutter and chaos that spills from each room.

Do other crafters and scrappers have this same 'habit'?
Please tell me your list of container "MUST HAVE ITS"!

I'm getting my home studio moved and re-organized - I think it will be a never-ending project to some degree!  What organizational items could you just NOT live without?  I'm also wondering how you store your 12x12 paper . . . by color?  Theme?  Type?  Brand?  And why you picked that way of organizing your paper . . .

Some scrap-booking tips

-- Don't get overwhelmed. Its so easy to do but I think when you first start out and see what is out there
-- Try and find what you like and not what others think you might like. You may have to try try try but it does happen
--get organized- I know that's easier said than done for most of us but you will see how much you can get completed or tell what you have when organized. For me keeping things simple is the easiest way.
-- Keep a journal or notebook around for great sayings from people and children (I have just started doing this and have a recent very cute story from my 3 year old--- My mother and I were just sitting at our kitchen table chatting as Campbell was playing in her room. She came out and saw a couple of dollar bills that were sitting on the counter and turned to us and said " That's the money you could be saving with Geico." It was totally out of the blue and I couldn't believe she said it. I told her she definitely watches too much TV and we had a good laugh about it)
--tear out those ideas from magazines instead of keeping the whole magazine- I tear the ideas I have out and put them in a composition notebook(which I decorated of course).
-- You don't have to use every photo. Now that one I have had a hard time over the six years I have been scrap-booking but recently I have let some pictures go to friends or family that I don't scrapbook or are bad photos. Its hard but in the long run less stress for you.
--Use what you have around you. I know I have used bowl or plates in a pinch to make a large circle or use boxes or post it notes to make a square shape. Think out of the box there are many things in our homes or wherever you may scrapbook that you could use as a shape.
--Here is a big tip. Use your own handwriting for journaling. It will show future generations how you wrote. Try and switch it out every so often from computer journaling.
-- Another tip about journaling is do it on the back if you don't like your handwriting.
-- Don't have a shadow for your favorite quickutz font. Trace around each letter with a fine-tipped pen. Leave some space along the edges for you to color in the edges.
-- If you are a cropper that likes to crop with others or out of your home. Remember to label your tools -- use stickers, tie a ribbon around an object, use those free address labels you get in the mail or cut out the junk mail address label and run through a xyron, sharpie is always a good idea as well.

Willy and I had such a great day today! First we went to Sonic and then we went swimming. We  waited 2 hrs after eating before we went swimming. I could not remember if it was one or two hours. It is better to be safe than sorry. I would hate for one of us to get a cramp. Talk about no fun! Willy really is out of control when he gets a cramp and then I try to have to work the cramp out.We filled up the sink in the bathroom. I did not feel like having a heat stroke today walking to the public pool. It is a nice pool and well worth the walk most day. I guess I was being lazy. The other thing is... It seems to be a bit to much for some people to see a small horse floating on her back. Now I really enjoy this myself. I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Good morning everyone! Summer is in full swing here in Texas! It was 103 yesterday and is going to be HOT again today! I will be inside.

I have some good news! Willy and I are making new friends and I know all of this sitting will pay off. Willy doesn't think so... I will let you all know how thing turn out.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Seems like life works well that way.

Have any of you noticed that much like everything else in life, scrapbooking is cyclical?  What was once in, went out, and what was out, is “in” again.  Have you noticed any “old trends” becoming “new” again?  I know I have.  I’ve noticed that people are starting to break away (albeit slowly) from the one pic per page layouts.  Those pages that we ogled in the past, with their $50 in embellishments and the lone pic are becoming a thing of the past, though I suspect that the trend will be coming around….again.

I know that in the past, stickers were “en vogue”.  Then they fell out of everyone’s good graces.  Now, I see more and more stickers being put out by companies to coordinate with their “lines”.  I was never a big fan of stickers in the past, but I’m giving them a go this time around.

Stamping on layouts was something I used to do, then I suddenly stopped.  Now, I’m starting to do it once again, especially with the discovery of those wonderful Copic markers.

So, are there any trends that you see returning?  Do you still have some of the stuff in your “stash” that you’ll go digging up once again?  Do you even follow trends?

What are your thoughts?

1 die many choices

Time to grab your dies and think out of the box :-) I took the Star Burst Die (http://www.shoprememberwhen.com/catalog/item/4008966/6828728.htm) and used the cloud to make a tree and a cupcake!!!! Come on peeps lets see what else we can come up with. Thanks and have fun - Kathy   CUPCAKE: To make the cupcake just cut the "cloud" in a light beige color and cut a square in pink. Round the edges of the square for the bottom of the cupcake and place the cloud on top for the top of the square. Your cupcake is complete :-) TREE: To make the tree cut the "cloud" in green and cut a triangle shape in brown. The triangle shape will become the trunk of the tree. Place the cloud on top of the triangle shape and your tree is complete :D

Willy and I were just sitting around being fabulous thinking about all of the fun we have had and all the fun we are going to have this summer. It is so hot in Texas during the summer. lucky for us there is a public pool I am allowed to go to and sometimes we just turn the water hose on each other. We saw this thing that looks like a big piece of plastic that you get wet and then slide on. It looks like a lot of fun, however if I was to run and throw myself down this piece of plastic... will that not hurt? And what if you hit a dry spot? Now I am think about it, I do not believe that will be fun at all. The people on TV sure make it look like crazy fun.

This morning we went up to the Dairy Queen to eat breakfast. Now every time I go to the Dairy Queen I think about a joke Kim told me. You should ask her about it sometime. I will not post it here. It was good I giggled. Anyway I was so messy by the time I got back to the store. It looked like I had just thrown all my food down on the floor and then rolled on it.

The 4th is almost here!!
